§ 01 / Definition
01

What is Cross-Border.

Cross-border shipping moves freight between the United States, Canada and Mexico. The freight is the easy part. The customs, the broker handoff, the documentation chain — that is where most carriers fail.

Three countries, one carrier.

We are able to offer regular weekly capacity for cross-border lanes between the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our network covers the major border crossings and our dispatch team coordinates directly with customs brokers.

In order to meet our customer needs, we provide various local-oriented freight plans and services on overseas sites. The result: your freight crosses without unexplained delays.

When Border makes sense.

Cross-border service is the right call when freight has to move between countries — and you need the customs side handled, not just the trucking side.

§ 04 / FAQ
04

Frequently asked questions.

The things shippers and drivers ask us most often. If you have a specific question that is not here, call (205) 895-6617.

01Do I need a customs broker to ship cross-border with Falcon?

Falcon dispatch coordinates directly with customs brokers on every cross-border load. If you already have a broker relationship, we use them. If not, we can recommend brokers we work with regularly.

02What documents are required for cross-border shipping?

Standard cross-border paperwork: Bill of Lading (BOL), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and broker-specific customs forms. We collect all docs up front to avoid border delays.

03Which border crossings do you use?

Major US-Mexico crossings: Laredo TX, El Paso TX, Pharr TX. US-Canada: Buffalo NY, Detroit MI. We route based on origin, destination, and broker location.

04How long does cross-border freight typically take?

Add 1-3 days to standard transit for border crossing depending on commodity, broker speed, and CBP/CBSA review. Reefer freight at the border gets priority lanes.

05Do you handle reefer cross-border?

Yes — Mexico produce and Canada protein lanes are our specialty. Cold-chain documentation maintained through customs review. Continuous temperature recording.

06Can you handle Mexico domestic freight after border crossing?

We coordinate with Mexican carrier partners for in-country delivery after the US-MX border. Standard partner-handoff process.
